Taipei → Nantou → Sun Moon Lake

Depart from Taipei by bus and travel to Puli and Sun Moon Lake, where you will visit the famous attractions and then spend the night in Sun Moon lake. The Sun-Moon Lake, located in the middle of Taiwan is the only natural large lake in Taiwan. The southern part of Kuang-Hua Island is shaped like a new moon, and the northern part is shaped like a sun; hence the name Sun-Moon Lake. The most famous sights around Sun-Moon Lake are the Ita Thao Village, Ci-en Pagoda, Holy Monk Shrine, Wenwu Temple, and so on.

Sun Moon Lake → Mt. Alishan → Chiayi

After breakfast, board the bus and enjoy a scenic ride along the New Central Cross Island Highway. Enjoy gorgeous views of towering mountain ranges covered with dense forests as you pass Yushan National Park.

Visit Alishan National Scenic Area for a walking tour of its forest. As you stroll along the shore and over the bridge of the Sister Ponds with your guide, learn about the tragic story of the Tsou sisters who, according to folk legend, threw themselves into these still waters after falling in love with the same man.

Follow your guide along the forest trails under the canopy of towering red cypress and cedar trees. Discover the quirky names given to nearly every tree, like the Tree Spirit Pagoda,' the Tree of Three Generations' and the Xianglin Sacred Tree.' Enter the Shoujen Pagoda, the park's largest temple, and marvel at the ornate golden altar and thousands of illuminated miniature Buddhas.

Chiayi → Taipei

After a buffet breakfast on your third day, you will head to Southern Branch of National Palace Museum. The purpose of establishment is to achieve cultural equity between the Northern and the Southern regions of Taiwan, and to drive the cultural, educational, social, and economic development in both regions.

The architecture itself is a piece of art.
The concept of design is inspired by Chinese Calligraphy and Chinese ink wash painting comprised of 3 different techniques: nongmo (flying white), feibai (thick dark ink), and xuanran (applying colors to drawings). Looking this building from the distance, it is like an gigantic painting on the ground. Interiorly, it meets the highest standard of green building.

Southern Branch of National Palace Museum complements the limited display space of National Palace Museum It actively showcases a variety of awe-inspiring exhibitions to fulfill its duty as a museum for artifact collection, research, conservation, education, and exhibition as well as to introduce artifact-derived leisure and recreational activities, and engage in cultural and creative operations.

You will be transferred back to downtown Taipei after the visit.
